Now we can start with the actual cutting and grinding. As you can see on the pictures bellow, the master glass cutter uses various wheels, from a big heavy stone wheel for large slanted surfaces to various diamond and stone wheels with various shapes. Finally the shiny cuts are hand polished by use of soft wheels and special polishing powder. Including the initial shaping of the crystals, pre-drawing, cutting and checking, it takes one worker about 8 hours work to finish the quadrant set and almost a week for the Refraction set |
